Data Protection

Lyntree complies with GDPR & The Information Commissioner’s Office as we are a ‘Data Controller’ which means that we have to handle your personal data in the correct way and in accordance with EU & UK Law.

Personal Data & Rights 

You have full rights to access your personal data and you can access this by visiting ‘Lyntree.co.uk’ the billing portal at any given time to be able to update or request to delete this.

What Data do we collect?

As a standard we will ask for the following to start designing or hosting your website:

  • Name, Address, Email Address, Mobile Number, Next of Kin.
  • Working Folder (This is for any images you send us, uploads on your website) as a backup and you can access this at any point and once you stop being a client the folder will be zipped and emailed to you and will be erased on our side. 

How long do we store your personal data for?

Initially 3 Months, if you have not been in touch after then this your data will be erased. If you become a client through ‘Website Design or Website Hosting’, we will hold it until you decide to close your account with us. 

Sharing Data

We will ask you how you would like to pay for your Website Hosting, You can do this via Stripe (Payment Gateway) or Natwest (Bank Transfers). In this case Stripe/Natwest will collect automatic payments and we are required to share your data with Stripe to ensure that correct payments are made and collected on time from our billing system.

Death Policy  / Website Transfer OwnerShip

We request for you to have a ‘Next of Kin’ named on your record in the event that anything should happen.  If we have been notified that the ‘Website Owner’ on the account has ‘deceased’ we will hold the website temporary until we can reach the ‘next of kin’ and ID Verification has been approved and discussed plans of action, this person will also be responsible for the billing payments (owed) on the account. 

Website Licensing 

As a ‘Website Host’ if you are using ‘certain’ technology that falls against ‘GDPR’ use of ‘Recording or ‘Streaming’ we are required to ensure that you have the right licenses in place as we do have an obligation to refer you over to the Information Commissioner’s Office for an official investigation.

Objections / Complaints (Handling Data)

If you have an issue with us or need us to stop processing your data at any point, you can speak to our Data Protection Officer below. This also applies to guidance or information required for implementing a ‘Privacy Policy’ on your website.
